Muruel "Joan" Ellis, 88, of Pensacola, FL passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018.

Joan was born on June 2, 1929 in McCullough, AL. to Sandy S. and Katie McCullough. She enjoyed being a very active member of the community and even after her retirement she stayed busy working with the Pensacola Lions Clinic. She was a longtime member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Joan had a very outgoing personality and loved by all who knew her. She always had a passion for cooking, gardening and the outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, McRae Ellis, a brother Mack McCullough as well as her nephew, Steven McCullough.
Survivors include her nieces, Jennifer McCullough West, Shiela Cardwell, Deborah Whitworth, nephew, Rocky Smith, a great-niece, Taylor West and a host of other nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held 1:00 pm until the Funeral Service beginning at 2: pm Wednesday January 17, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pensacola Lions Clinic.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Solaris Healthcaare, her neighbor, Diane Campbell, as well as 2 special friends, Nell Simmons an Catherine York.
