Horace Koenig Camp age 101, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

He was born on a dairy farm where the Birmingham Airport is now located, to Oscar Leonard Camp, Sr. and Ida Mae Miller Camp on June 4, 1912. He herded cattle from barns at south East Lake to pastures on the crest of Ruffner Mountain when he was 7 years old. He was a faithful member of East Lake United Methodist Church for 94 years. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1931, was a Birmingham police officer for 26 years, and a charter member of Fraternal Order of Police, Birmingham Lodge No.1. He was a 70 year member of East Lake Masonic Lodge No 480, dual member of Five Points - King Solomon Lodge No. 897, and member of Zamora Shrine Temple.

Mr. Camp was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lois Elizabeth Campbell Camp; and four brothers: Oscar Leonard, Jr, August Lewis, Edwin Frances, and Miller Camp. His sister, Dorothy Camp Keith, age 91, lives in Taylor, Michigan. He is survived by three sons: William Leonard Camp (Anne); Richard Alan Camp (JoAnn); and Ronald Miller Camp; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 10AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, with services at 11AM, burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, Birrmingham, AL.
