Jay R. Jacobs, 99, died September 1, 2013. He was born July 24, 1914 in Bearden, OK to Weaver and Ada (Clark) Jacobs. He was a proud Navy veteran of WWII where he served as a Quartermaster and served throughout the Pacific Theater. He was discharged in 1945. After WWII, he opened the J&M Cleaners in Bethany, OK with his brother-in-law, Elmer Mann, then later went to work for Tinker Air Force Base, where he retired as an Information Specialist in the Office of Information. Jay was also a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He loved his RV and enjoyed traveling. After retirement, he and his wife, Nalora, spent much of their time between Oklahoma City and Rockport, TX. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nalora, and son, Jay Patrick Jacobs. Survivors include his granddaughter, Holly Walker and husband Shane; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Jacobs; grandson, Brandon Jacobs; and great-grandchildren, Dillon Shane Walker, and Haley Brooke Jacobs. Services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013, 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
