ROSE "JOANN" MORRIS

Rosa "JoAnn" Morris, 74, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2007.
Born May 28, 1932, to Richard P. and Ruth Saunders, JoAnn lived most of her life in the Charleston area. She was a graduate of Garnet High School and was crowned "Miss Garnet" in 1949. She also attended West Virginia State College and was a longtime member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Henry Morris Jr.; father, Richard Saunders; and sister, Janice Peters Harris.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Saunders; children, Robin, John III, Kimberly, Donovan (Geneva,) Michelle and Mark, all of Charleston; brother, Richard Hoover Saunders of Rand; sister, Mary Duckworth of Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Teresa, Keith, Jason, Donovan ?Stuff? Jr., Donna, John IV, Tiffany and Crystal; aunt, Mabel Chambers of Willingboro, N.J.; nephew, Greg Blake of Charleston; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
Services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 19, at First Baptist Church, Shrewsbury Street, Charleston.
Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
