Funeral for Peggy G. "Gerry" Creasman, 78, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Gerry passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, surrounded by her family following a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease.

She was born April 8, 1935, to Clifton "Pete" Barker and Ruby Smith Barker in Caddo. She married Harvey J. "Joe" Creasman on April 22, 1953, following his return from deployment in the Korean conflict and her graduation from Caddo High School. She spent the next 18 years as a homemaker and Army wife, living in several different states and countries and through Joe's two deployments to Vietnam. Gerry and Joe settled in Lawton following Joe's retirement in 1971. She was a talented cake decorator and operated a successful small business from her home for many years. She was also a longtime Mary Kay consultant. Gerry and Joe recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together they had two children: Ron and Sheila. Gerry was an active member of Lighthouse Church of God and participated in a variety of activities, including women's ministry and singing on Sunday mornings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially loved being with her grandchildren and getting together with her sisters. She also loved singing, shopping, collecting jewelry, and playing dominos and board games with her family.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Ron, of Lake Worth, Texas, and his daughters: Ashlyn and Taryn; daughter, Sheila Bryant and her husband Bob, of Lawton, and their sons: Mitchell and Nick; brothers: Clifton Barker and James Barker; sisters: Mildred Green, Lucille Shans, Barbara Breeden and Pat Barker; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and parent-in-law.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
