Second child of John Jacob and Elizabeth (Glenn) Weidenhammer III, she was born in Ellington Township, Adams County, IL. She married Albert Bert Straub 28 Feb 1867 in Quincy, Adams Co, IL, and moved to Troy, Clarke Co, Iowa. 1880 found her in Fowler, Adams Co, Ill., where her husband ran a general store. After a robbery of the store, the family moved to Galesburg, Illinois, where her husband worked for the CB&Q Railroad, as did most of the Straub's and Weidenhammer's. Their children were as follows: Rosa Mae, Edward J, Dorothy Alice, Roy Albert, William Clarence, Martha W, John Henry, Peachie Daniel, Arthur Bob, and an infant.
