Lillian Melrose "Cissie" Nash died August 30, 2005. She was born in Fordyce on June 11, 1922.

Cissie received her education in the Fordyce schools. She attended Capital City Business School, Grahams School of Hair Design and New York City Styling School before moving to El Dorado in 1945. She and her sister Rubye bought the Tru-Art Beauty Shop; Cissie later opened Cissie's Beauty in Madison Square Shopping Center. She co-owned Arco Siding and Home Improvement Company, a light construction and siding company, where she worked as secretary.

As her way of witnessing for God and all the many blessings He had bestowed on her life, she joined the Second Baptist Church, where she taught Training Union and Sunday School. She moved her membership to Marrable Hill Chapel, where she taught the Ladies Bible Study. She most recently belonged to First Baptist, teaching the Hattie Mathaney Sunday School class. She also belonged to Prime Timers and served on different committees.

Out of her love for her community and the people she loved, she joined as a charter member of El Dorado Genealogy Club, Little Theater, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the Chamber of Commerce Prime Timers Choir, President of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary, South-West District Chairman of the Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary and served as State Silver Haired Legislature for the South-West District two separate terms. She served as a member of the Arkansas Hospital Association, served as president of the Arkansas Hair Dresser Club, was a charter member of the Share Foundation Council Board and a charter member of the Inter-Faith Steering Committee. Cissie was a member of Monday Painters, and belonged to the League of Women Voters and the Pilot Club.

She was a charter member of Union Medical Center of South Arkansas Auxilian, where she served as president twice and volunteered over 32,000 hours of service. She served as president of the El Dorado Treasure Hunters Club, was a member of El Dorado Coin Club, and served as Chairman of the RSVP Board. She was given the First Award from Columbus as Outstanding Auxilian of Arkansas in 1996 and was chosen as the Outstanding Auxilian of the State of Arkansas in 1998. She was also chosen as one of the Five Who Care honor society in 2002.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, William Benjamin Cheatham and Ethel Smalley Cheatham-Huntley of Fordyce, Arkansas; two sisters, Rubye C. Grant and Billye Garner; three husbands, Roy Goodwin Murphy, Sidney Rieger and Walter T. Nash.

She is survived by her two children, Roy Goodwin Murphy, Jr. and Peggy Roi Prince and her husband John M. Prince; three grandchildren, Tina Helberg and her husband Mike Helberg of St. Louis, Missouri, Stacie Rae Murphy and Christy Roi Murphy, both of El Dorado ; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Benson of St. Louis and Lexis Nicole Orrell of El Dorado; three step-children, Larry Nash of Hope, Arkansas, Joan Campus of Branson, Missouri and Sharon Horn of Richmond, Virginia ; 10 step-great-grandchildren ; and Susan Murphy, the mother of Stacie and Christy, Me-Me to Lexis, and beloved friend.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, El Dorado, with Dr. Lynn Worthen and Rev. Wilson Borovskis officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery, conducted by Youngs Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to MCSA Auxiliary, 700 W. Grove, El Dorado, Ark. 71730.
