Ms. Joann Parks Davidson, age 76 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Ms. Davidson was born on September 22, 1936 in Temple, Georgia, daughter of the late James Euell Parks and the late Zelma Campbell Parks. She was a graduate of the Rockmart High School Class of 1954. She was a former employee of the Polk School District where she was affectionately known as "Mama D", having been the assistant librarian at the Rockmart Middle School for many years. Ms. Davidson was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart. She retired on May 2, 2002 as the librarian of the Rockmart Public Library. Ms. Davidson was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Cathy Parks Waters; son, Mr. Steven Earl Davidson; brother, Mr. Earl Cecil Parks; and special companion, Mr. Donald Fagan. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Ann Argo of Aragon; son, Charlie Ray Fagan of Leesburg, AL; sister-in-law, Peggy Parks of Austell; four grandchildren, Amy Brumbelow Redmond and her husband Wally and Monica Waters Damron and her husband B.J. all of Rockmart, Cisco Fagan of Piedmont, AL and Chisom Fagan of Birmingham, AL; four great-grandchildren, Josh Redmond, Seth Redmond, Nick Damron and Emma Damron; nieces, Leesa Kim Parks and Karen Kristy Parks Crump; and nephew, Keith Earl Parks. Funeral services for Ms. Davidson will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. David Warriner and Rev. Barry Snapp officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Ms. Davidson will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Linda Hatcher, Keith Parks, Alan Dean, Kirby Brown, Cisco Fagan, Chisom Fagan, John Cavender and Eddie Statham. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Rockmart High School Class of 1954, The GIRLS and members of the Second Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, September 6th between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. At other hours, the family may be contacted at 33 Kassi Lane, Rockmart, GA 30153. Floral donations will be accepted or those wishing to do so, may make contributions to the Heart of the Community Foundation, (Redmond Heart House), P. O.
