Brenda Waymire Garrett, 71, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 22, 2013, in Blythe with her husband of 25 years by her side.

She was born June 2, 1942, in Wright City, Okla. to Dub Waymire and Lois Dempsey. She was baptized at the early age of 13 years old in the Baptist Church in Grand Saline, Texas.

Brenda, along with her family came to Blythe in 1956, where as a young girl she worked as a waitress, cashier and later an apartment manager. Brenda had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. Her family was her world; she loved to have company and spend time just talking and telling stories about her grandbabies. Everyone held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Elswood (Woody) Garrett of Blythe; daughter, Tammy (Rocky) Milton of Tucson, Ariz.; sons, Kenneth Edward (Maggie) Wooley of Chatsworth, Ga., Ross (Mary) Garrett of Blythe; daughters, Laura (Andy) Ruiz of Chula Vista, Calif. and Lisa Garrett of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Sonhia (Jesse) Garrett of Blythe, Calif., Connie (Marty) Flood of Beaver, Utah, Ronnie (Kathy) Waymire of Chicago Ill., Jimmy (Donna) Waymire of Tucson, Ariz., Dwight (Sherry) Waymire Ehrenberg, Ariz., Violet (Rob) Stewart Ehrenberg, Ariz.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dub and Lois Waymire; son, Steven Garrett; grandson, Donald Garrett; and two brothers, Richard and Eddy Waymire.

A small service for family and close friends was held on Aug. 25, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Dr. David Brooks officiating.

Interment was Aug. 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. and Palo Verde Cemetery, with closing prayers by her brothers Dwight and Ronnie Waymire.
