Dr. George William Woolfolk was one of the children born to George Woolfolk and his wife Catherine "Kitty" Temple Tompkins Gwathmey. George attained the rank of Private in the 10th Regiment of the Kentucky Calvary (Confederate side) while serving in the U.S. Civil War.
