Iva Lydia Shelton
Iva Lydia Shelton of Wamic, Ore., went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 5, 2007.

Born March 29, 1927, to Charles an Velma Tanner Scates in Lancaster, Calif., Iva and her six sisters grew up and graduated here in Ventura County. It was in Ventura County that she met and married Ward Shelton and here also that they raised their family.

Iva was her husband's helpmate, both in his ministry at Somis Community Bible Church and in his cabinet shop, Nearmar Marble Co., in Saticoy. She found her greatest joy in being with her family and friends, and in her spare time, she loved to garden, quilt and work on jigsaw puzzles and woodcraft projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.

Iva is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ward Shelton; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Jerry Smith of Newbury Park and Darlene and Bob Wusthoff of Las Vegas, Nev.; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janet Shelton of Cumming, Ga., and Steve and Cara Shelton of Camarillo; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Charlette Britt of Lancaster, Elizabeth Fogle of Washington and her twin, Ida Riffle, also of Washington. We mourn not as those who have no hope!

In accordance with Iva's wishes, no service was held.
