Sylvia Gaynell Ward Walters, beloved wife of Edward L. Walters, passed away Sep 6, 2013 in Graceville, FL. Born Sep 18, 1933, she was the devoted wife of Ed for 62 years, and mother of Roger, James and Vanessa. She was a woman of great love and humor. She had a quick laugh and never met a stranger. She and Ed's journey together was one of adventure. Everyone around them knew that their relationship was an epic love story.

Sylvia is survived by her children and their spouses; Roger and Susan Walters, James and Marla Walters, and Vanessa and James McCroan. Granny is survived by 10 "Grands," Jenny Childress, Jodie Sekeres, Jamey Walters and Matt Hatcher; Charissa Wilson and Elizabeth Powell; Michelle Collier, Michael McCroan, Greg McCroan and Donna McCroan. Granny and Paw-Paw hosted 14 of their 23 "Great-Grands" at their farm in Graceville this summer. Sylvia's surviving siblings are Florene White of Vernon, FL and Joyce Kirkland of Chipley, FL.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Elizabeth Ward; a sister, Ann Lee; 4 brothers, Floyd, Billie Joe, J. B., and L. Z.; and 1 great-granddaughter, Julia Grace Childress.

The visitation hours will be from 1:30-2:30 pm Sun, Sep 8, 2013, at the James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville, FL. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm with Bro. Landon Saunders and Dr. James Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville, Jackson, FL, with James & Lipford Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital in her memory.
