Doris Shirley (Graewin) Pronovost went to be with the Lord on Sept. 3, 2013, after a short illness. She was born on May 3, 1920, in Missoula, to Frank and Elsie Graewin. Doris graduated from Missoula County High School in 1938 and attended the University of Montana.

In 1945, Doris met the love of her life and soul mate, Joseph O. Pronovost, and they were united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1945. From this union of 64 years, they had three beautiful daughters: Karen, Jeanne and Nancy.

The family settled in Billings in 1962, where they raised their three children. Doris was able to stay home with her children and was very involved with her girls in Girls Scouts and 4-H, teaching them how to cook and sew. She also was involved in Federal Club, Extension Club, Garden Club and Bridge Club. After her children had graduated high school, she was hired by School District 2 as a cook at Lincoln Junior High and then became head cook and manager at Castle Rock Middle school until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, camping and boating with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved being in her yard, working in her numerous flower gardens and listening to the birds.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Metzger (Keith); son-in-law, James Bleibtrey; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren: James Teslow, Carson Willis (Chrissy), Chris Willis (Sarah), Corey Willis (Kayla), Chase Bleibtrey (Kerin), Vanessa Bleibtrey, Sunni Stuber (Daniel), Jessica Guenthner (Randy), Nicholas Metzger, Leslie Metzger; and six great-grandchildren: Haiden Willis, Owen Willis, Eben Willis, Cameron Willis, Carly Guenthner and Trent Guenthner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elsie; her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Karen Bleibtrey and Jeanne Teslow; and her son-in-law, James Teslow.

Memorials can be sent to the Jeanne Teslow Scholarship fund at St Patrick's Hospital, Missoula, Mont.; the Karen Bleibtrey Memorial Scholarship fund at Corvallis High School Corvallis, Mont.; the St. Thomas Parish, Billings; or the memorial of your choice.
