Ephraim is the son of Ephraim Wheeler and Hannah Goodell, husband of Ratchel Partlow. They had the following children surname Wheeler:
Allen, Lucinda, Lucy, and Silvina.

Ephriam Wheeler built in 1815 an inn that was a stagecoach stop between St. Albans Vermont and Montreal. His only son Allen Wheeler ran the inn with him and continued to do so after his death. At St. Albans passengers could change stages and go on to New York or Boston. Every 3 days a stage would stop at the Wheeler Inn.

The inn had a tavern and a shop where local customers could exchange farm products for sugar, flour or whisky. Around 1885 the inn closed its doors as travelers did not have the need to stop there anymore.

I visited with Eric Wheeler in 2002. He was the last of his Wheeler line to live in the old inn. Eric said that he was the baby of the family and was born there at the inn. His family originally owned 280 acres, some was sold and it became 180 acres. He owned 6 acres upon which sits the old Wheeler Inn. The inn was located on Wheeler Drive in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada. As time passes, town boundaries change and street names change. Today it is located at #308, 23rd Avenue East in Venice En Quebec.
