~Alice Marie Anderson-Dugger~
Alice Anderson, age 65 of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at Eastar Hospital in Muskogee while surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born to Johnny and Rachel (Cooper) Anderson on April 11th, 1949 in Checotah, Oklahoma.
Alice lived in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma most of her life and grew up as quite a Tom Boy. After receiving her early education, she began working as a Certified Nurse Assistant, housekeeper and homemaker for the family. Alice enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go to Clear Creek and Taylor Ferry with the kids. She liked to do home cooking for the family, work crossword puzzles and enjoy her Coca-Cola drink. Even though Alice was an outdoor type, she was at her happiest while being around her family. Alice’s children and grandchildren took center stage in her life and she was proud of all the children and their kids. The only thing that made her unhappy was when she knew that some of the kids were bickering or fighting with one another. She also loved her cat which she called (Cat-Cat) and her dog (Fluffy). When Alice could get the opportunity, she enjoyed spending a little time at the Casino where she could have a wonderful time watching people, enjoying the entertainment and eating some of their great food.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny William Anderson and Rachel M. (Cooper) Anderson and one son, Johnnie Dewayne Anderson.
Her survivors include three sons, Michael Anderson Gray and his wife Amy of Tahlequah, David Gene Gray of Fort Gibson and Preston Alvin Gray and wife Julie of Fort Gibson. Two daughters, Elizabeth Farrow of Fort Gibson, Rachel Weed and husband Willard of Fort Gibson. Two sisters, Betty Sue Cooper of Fort Gibson, Deloris and Keith McLelland of Freemont, California. Thirteen grandchildren, Michael Gray II, Alixandrea Gray, Ryan Dark, Austin Gray, Shyann Gray, P.J. Gray, Bailey Gray, Emiley Gray, William Gray, Scott Gray, Jonathan Gray, Triston Weed and Christopher Weed. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with Pastor Tommy Honeycutt, officiating. Burial will follow at Gum Spring Cemetery near Webbers Falls, Oklahoma.
