My 2nd Great-Grandaunt.

d/o George Gilbert Wyland(1843-1904) & 2) Caroline Barklow(1844-1872).

Mrs. Samuel F. Spayd, living on N. West street, died last Friday from puerpual convulsions, aggravated by Bright's disease. She was effected about 6 o'clock in the morning, and was rendered unconcious at noon. Spasm after spasm passed over her from then on to her death. To make her death more sad, Mrs. Spayd was about to become the mother of a second child. She was a devoted mother. Her little girl whom she rocked to sleep each night, would not be comforted by the kind neighbors, but cried until nature overcame it. She loved the child as only a consecrated mother can. Her husband and child survive her.
Funeral services took place from her late home on Sunday, at 2:30 o'clock, and from the Reformed church at 3:00 o'clock.
