Nancy Neoma Culbertson of Weed passed away at her home on Sept. 7, 2013. She was 88 years old.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1924, in Delhart, Texas, to William James Parks and Elizabeth Mae Lizzie(Pabst) Mickens. She married William Elza Culbertson, they moved to Siskiyou County in 1948 from Iola, Kan. Nancy was a fire spotter/tower lookout for the U.S. Forest Service. She loved fishing.
Nancy is survived by her sons, David Culbertson of Weed and William Culbertson of Bullhead City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Mae Combs of Independence, Mo.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband,a son Ronald Lee, 2 Grandsons Ronald Lee(Culbertson)Frank and Matthew Ryan Culbertson, 3 brothers, Clarence William, Robert Lee and Johnnie Thomas. 4 sisters, Goldie May Cunningham, Ruth Estella Shepard, Martha Elizabeth McIntire and Esther Marie Combs.
At her request, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 914 Pine St., Mount Shasta, CA 96067. The Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
