Edna Hickman, 93, of Mary Esther, Florida, a former Minford area resident, passed away Friday evening, September 6, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Betty Kirk. Born April 25, 1920 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Edgar and Virgie Mae (Chandler) Giles.

She was a member of the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Minford.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Gay Kirk; a grandson, Michael and wife, Lynn Kirk, all of Mary Esther, Florida; step granddaughter, Dawnell and Paul Claessen of Palm Bay, Florida; step great-granddaughter, Laurilee Osorio, of Jupiter, Florida; step great-great-grandson, Jackson Osorio, of Jupiter, Florida; step great-grandson, Jason McLeod; step great-great-grandson, Kyle Purapura; two nieces, Donna Albrecht of Portsmouth, Ohio; Sharon Abner of Dayton, Ohio, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Hickman on December 27, 2004, whom she married on July 24, 1937 in Greenup, Kentucky, and two sisters, Wilma Reed and Pauline Shump.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Thomas M. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com
