Phyllis "Jean" Ainsworth 1928 ~ 2009

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Sandy. She was born on December 30, 1928 in Murray, UT to Wallace LeRoy and Dorothy Fenstermaker Benson. Married Lynn Neldon Ainsworth April 2, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jean attended Jordan High School and left with a group of life long friends. She was known for her beautiful flower gardens and roses. She worked as a waitress for many years. She had a love for golf and she learned to love bowling because it was where Dad was. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips and cruises with Lynn and her dad, Wally. She served many people during her life and was locally known for her homemade sugar cookies. As a member of the LDS church, she served in many callings including ward librarian and a greeter alongside Lynn. Jean is survived by her children Phyllis Rae Ainsworth (Lynn Merrill), Curtis (Sherrie), LeeAnn (Bobby) Medina, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister Carla Latimer and brother Lynn Benson. Preceded in death by her husband, Lynn and son Dennis Lynn. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. In keeping with mom's wishes, a visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy.
