From the Lawrence Journal, March 29, 1862:
DIED
On Saturday the 15th last, Mr. Samuel Farver, of Neshannock township, Lawrence County in the 77th year of his age.
The deceased was one of the early settlers of this county, having been a resident since 1806, he was a soldier in the war of 1812, was a good citizen and an obliging neighbor and never failed, when in his power to aid in the amelioration of his fellow man. He was not a member of any church; but was strictly religious and while on his death bed expressed that full assurance that he had no doubt about his future state. He has left his companion, four sons and a daughter, with a huge concourse of friends to mourn his death.∼He married Rebecca Carroll in 1808. "History of Lawrence County, Pa., p. 83, 1877."
