Christy Lynn (Cabot) Wood, age 50 of Fennville, formerly of Manistee, peacefully left our world to be with her Lord on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 8, 1963 in Manistee, daughter of Marie Cabot and the late Larry Cabot. Christy attended Manistee Catholic Central School where she was a majorette in the marching band, a cheerleader and was also voted homecoming queen. She was a graduate with the M.C.C. class of 1981.
Over the years, she held many employment positions including the Carriage Inn, 440 West, Manistee I.S.D. and the Holland Public Schools just to name a few. She married Ted Wood on Nov. 29, 1986 in Manistee. Christy was extremely devoted to her family and to her faith. She was a loving wife and mother to her husband Ted and her children, Nathan, Sean, Ashley and Jeremiah.
Christy is survived by her husband Ted Wood, and their children, Nathan, Sean, Ashley & Jeremiah Wood, her mother, Marie Cabot, her brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Cari Cabot and their children, Crissy and Courtney Cabot, special aunts Jane Wojciechowski , Joan (Mike) Ware a special uncle Len Cabot and a special cousin Jane Kotowitcz. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive her.
Christy was preceded in death by her father Larry Cabot, her grandparents, John and Isabelle Wojciechowski, Roy and Esther Cabot, Aunt Evelyn and uncle Leonard Patulski
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Rev. John McCracken Celebrant. Burial will take immediately following Christy's funeral Mass at Mount Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee.
