Mrs. Nancy J. Smith Passes Away Monday Morning At Home Of Daughter Near Fletcher
Word was received in Troy of the death of Mrs. Nancy J. Smith which occurred at 10 o'clock Monday forenoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Whitmore, north of Fletcher. The immediate cause of death was paralysis with which Mrs. Smith was stricken Saturday evening. Although Mrs. Smith had been an invalid for many years, she lived to celebrate her eighty-eighth birthday the 22nd of last May.
Mrs. Smith was the widow of Martin Smith, who preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith resided in Casstown for many years. Since the death of her daughter, Mrs. William Worthington, which occurred last November, Mrs. Smith has made her home with Mrs. Whitmore.
Surviving are one son, C. M. Smith of Dayton, formerly of Troy, two daughters, Mrs. Whitmore and Mrs. Deniel Keener of St. Louis, one brother, Joseph Moses of Urbana and three grandchildren, Carleton and Melvin Smith and David Whitmore.
