He came to this county at an early age, and has since resided here. He united with the Methodist Church in Troy about sixty years ago, and has lived an earnest, Christian life.

Samuel's third marriage was to Elizabeth Betsy McDowell Leaply, Miami County, Ohio, January 16, 1871.
