Helen M. Austin, 78, St. Mathias Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
She was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Harding to Joseph and Rose (Dering) Bieganek. She graduated from Harding School and St. Francis High School in Little Falls. She married William Austin on Nov. 29, 1947, at Holy Cross Church in Harding. She was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church and St. Mathias CCW. She managed the Austin Store for 30 years and prepared tax returns from 1942-2002.
Survivors include her husband, William; two daughters, Rose Heim, Kelliher, and Mary Sather, Fort Ripley; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Sister Justina, OSF, Little Falls, Dolores Preimesberger, Genola, and Rita Kainz, Rice; and four brothers, Anthony Bieganek, Sarasota, Fla., Leo Bieganek, Apple Valley, Tom Bieganek, Beaverton, Mich., and David Bieganek, Kelliher.
Two sisters, Theresa Bieganek and Marian Mayer; and three brothers, Stanley, Alphege and Ted Bieganek, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mathias Catholic Church with Father Bill Skarich officiating. Burial will be in St. Mathias Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. today at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. and prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour before services Monday at the church.
