GLADYS LOUISE OSBORNE, 81, of Julia Manor, and formerly of Potomac Towers, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at Washington County Hospital. Born Feb. 8, 1918, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Henneberger Appenzellar.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Gipe, and her second husband, Bernie Osborne.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Woodpoint Christian Chapel, Hagerstown.

She is survived by a daughter, Amelia K. Berry of Hagerstown; a sister, Julia Thompson of North Carolina; two brothers, Harry Appenzellar of Chambersburg, and David Appenzellar of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick Gipe and John Gipe; a sister; and five brothers.

Services were held at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
