Doris Orene Garrett was called home to her lord and savior on July 20, 2015 at age 87.
She was born January 23, 1928. Doris graduated from Huntsville High School and received her BA degree from Howard Payne College and Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Doris is preceded in death by parents, four sisters and 3 brothers. Doris was next to the youngest of nine children in the family of Sanford G. and Inez T. Garrett in Goshen Texas. She is survived by one brother, Adolph L. (Pete) Garrett of Houston, TX, nieces Gloria Havens and Betty Daniels; nephews David Garrett, Dan Butler and Gary Butler....Doris was called into the work of the Lord and was a Missionary for Southern Baptist Mission Board in Nigeria,West Africa teaching in High School there 30 plus years. Viewing will be at the Westway Baptist Church at 12 FM 3179 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 A.M. July 23, 2015. Services will be held at the church at 11:00 A.M.. Short service will follow at the Farris Cemetery.
