Sonny was born on April 13, 1942 in Fayette County, AL a son of Ray Franklin Aldridge and Floy Burleson Aldridge. He was a 1960 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He previously worked as a truck driver and was employed by Coalite and Boyd Pate Trucking until ill health forced his retirement. He was a generous, kind hearted man who loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Claude and Louvenia Aldridge and a sister, Betty Ann Holland.
Sonny is survived by his daughter, Libby Estes and her husband, Tim “Ears” Estes of Winfield, his grandson, Hunter Estes of Winfield, great-granddaughter, Lorelai Elizabeth Estes, Libby’s mother, Martha Nell Oelberg, special friend, Deborah Aldridge and other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home with burial following in Glenn Allen United Methodist Church Cemetery. Fred Baccus will be the officiating minister. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
