Cecil U. Edwards, 59, of Arvin, Calif., died Wednesday in his home city. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Merritt Funeral Service Chapel, Eufaula. Rev. Ernest Best and Rev. Gary Hawkins will officiate. Burial will be at Lenna cemetery under the direction of Merritt Funeral Service. Edwards was born July 28, 1926 at Parksville, Ark. He moved to McIntosh County at the age of three and graduated from Stidham High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a charter member of the VFW Post 8809 in Arvin. He was a self-employed hay contractor, working with the farming community, taking an early retirement due to health reasons. He married Mary Morrison on March 21, 1947 and they had lived in Arvin since that time.
