Mr. Liles was a lifetime member of the Rock Ridge community. He retired from Herring Farm Center with 37 years of service. He also worked and retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation. He served as a deacon at Marsh Swamp OFWB Church and was a retired member of the Rock Ridge Fire Department. He loved to work in the yard and was an avid gardener.
He was survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne Boyette Liles; a son, Edward Eddie Liles of Wilson; a daughter, Kesha Liles Smith and husband, Jon, of Rock Ridge; two sisters, Carolyn L. Boyette (L.A.) of Kenly and Helen L. Page of Charleston, S.C.; three brothers, Max Liles (Susan) of Wilson, Tommy Liles (Linda) of State Road and Sammy Liles (Sue) of Sims; a special brother-in-law, Sid Boyette (Doris Lee) of Rock Ridge; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Liles and Edna O'Neal Liles.
