Kevin D. Shannon, 38, of North Platte, passed away Jan. 16, 2012.
He was born on May 21, 1973, in Frankfort, Germany, to Stephen D. and Kathlene L. Martin Shannon.
Kevin attended North Platte High School. He worked construction in the North Platte area.
He married Cindy Barnes on March 1, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He enjoyed cars and racing, especially NASCAR. He oversaw the go-cart racing, where his son, Jayden, raced.
Survivors include, his wife, Cindy, of North Platte; his three children, Ashley Goff, Jayden Shannon and Trevor Shannon, all of North Platte; parents, Steve (Kathy) Shannon, of North Platte; a brother, Scott (Lynnette) Shannon, of North Platte; nieces and nephews, Megan, Kortney and Emma Shannon, Lauren and Parker Ginn; grandmothers, Velma Martin, of St. George, Kan., and Violet Shannon, of Fremont; parents-in-law, Robert (Mary) Barnes, of North Platte; sister-in-law, Shelly (Lyndon) Ginn, of North Platte; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Aubrey Martin and Johnnie Shannon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, at the Bethel Free Church with the Rev. Dan Reimer officiating.
The family requests casual dress for the service. Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.
Book signing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., today, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of the arrangements. .
