Robert Eugene Doyle, 85, of Decatur, IL, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in Laurie, MO. He was born November 12, 1927 in Brownstown, IL, the son of William Otis Doyle & Cora Jane Lawler. Robert served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a self employed mechanic and owned his own Texaco station in Decatur for many years. He loved fishing and cardinal baseball.
Robert Doyle and Lois June Eckard were married on April 3, 1965. She survives along with children: Don (Patti) of Gravois Mills, MO & Rob (Judy) of Boody, IL; 4 grandchildren: Melissa, Zach, Jerrica, and Brock Doyle; 1 great grandchild: Zoey Doyle; & sisters: Marie Pinney & Wanda Fodor. He was preceded by 4 brothers: Russell, Raymond, George & Lloyd Doyle; 6 sisters: his twin, Roberta Goldsboro, Florence Carson, Rheba Turner, Zelma Williams, Annabelle Reynolds, Velma Simpkins.
Funeral Information
Robert was cremated in Missouri. There will be a time of sharing with the family at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We will then leave for an 11:30 a.m. inurnment service at Price Cemetery, Oconee with graveside military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard.
