Former school teacher Emelia Anderson, 87, died Saturday, July 4 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James.
Services were held Tuesday at Farwell Lutheran Church, Farwell, the Rev. Carl Seamon officiating. Burial was in the Farwell Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 9, 1905, to Torval and Annie (Moen) Thronson in Pope County. Se graduated from Glenwood High School and Minot State Teachers's College in Minot, N.D. She taught in Minnesota and North Dakota for many years. On April 12, 1938, she married Harry Anderson in Farwell. They farmed near Starbuck and Gardner, N.D., before operating dry cleaning businesses in Hatton, N.D. and Hector. Mrs. Anderson lived in St. James for the past 17 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, St. James, and several teachers' organizations.
She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Clarence and Marlene Thronson of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Torrance and Olive of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. She was the aunt of Ruth Ann Danger of St. James. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, two brothers and two sisters.
