Joy "Old Grandma" Walker, 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, in Burleson. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Granbury First Baptist Church. Interment: White Church Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Mrs. Walker was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Anton to Thomas and Effie Chapman Hill, the youngest of six children. She married Lawrence Murry Walker on Dec. 31, 1949, in Hot Springs, N.M. She had lived in Granbury since 1995, and moved to Crowley this year. She was baptized a Primitive Baptist in 1946 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Joy worked for J.C. Penney for 17 years. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers; two sisters; sons, Larry and Steve; and husband, Murray. Survivors: Daughter-in-law, Darlene Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris and Beth; five great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Carretta Cashion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
