He was born May 5, 1928 in Urbana Township, the son of Elmer Daniel and Olive Edith Cox. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Cox, who passed away on Dec. 20, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Delores Weber and Lois Brownfield; his brother, Wayne Cox and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are two stepsons, Donnie K. (Tina) Harlan and Bobby C. Harlan; one stepdaughter, Sandra (Randall) Osterbur; five granddaughters, Deanna Burgess, Melinda (Chris) Shafer, Valerie No, Kimberly Walden (Mike, deceased) and Kelly (Eric) Kuchefski; and five great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, where he served in the infantry repairing military tanks and trucks.
