"Mrs. Ida May Avery
LAKESIDE, Dec. 13 -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Haverstock funeral home in LaPorte, Ind., for Mrs. Ida May Avery, a former Lakeside resident, but who for the past two and a half years resided at Walkerton, Ind., southeast of LaPorte.
Dr. Charles R. Naftger officiated at the rites, and burial was in the Lakeside cemetery, beside the grave of her husband, Charles Avery, who passed away a few years ago while they resided at Lakeside.
Mrs. Avery was born in Bloomington, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parr, on April 1, 1880. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Allen Cutler, Watervliet, and Mrs. Katherine Hess of Cooksville, Ill.; two sons, Albert Avery, of Walkerton, Ind., and William Avery, Stevensville; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Avery, who resided many years in the Lakeside community, was very well known. Walter Avery of Three Oaks is a grandson." From the Herald-Press, December 13, 1951, page 14
