Augusta Wilma Combs Reed, 82, died at 2:17 AM Sunday, June 13, 1999, at Regency Place, Lafayette. Born Aug. 16, 1916, at Linton, she came to Lafayette in 1947. She married Fred D. Reed at Linton on Jan. 23, 1940; he preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1988.

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and worked in housekeeping at Purdue University for more than 18 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Miracle Bethel Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Sharon Colley of Lafayette; a brother, Curtis Combs; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Butler, Mrs. Shirley Hannon of Indianapolis, Mrs. Geraldine Wilson of Sullivan, and Wanda (Mrs. John) Siecriest of Linton; three grandchildren, Mark Colley of Wichita, KS, Kevin Colley of Lafayette, and Melissa Fee of Templeton; also six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters. Service June 16 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Revs. Jason and Norma Albright officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
