Cora A. McPherron was born January 12, 1875 in Bonsborough, In.; and died March 7, 1949 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 25 days.
She moved to a farm near Republic, Kansas in 1881 where she grew to womanhood. On June 30, 1897 she was united in marriage with Robert E. French. To this union were born two daughters and two sons.
Mrs. French moved to California in 1922 with her family. While in Los Angeles, she was a member of Bethany Presbyterian church and was affiliated with the Eastern Star lodge. Upon returning to Republic in 1942 she joined the United Brethren church.
Survivors include two sons, Guy French of Republic and Glen French of Phoenix, Ariz., Two daughters, Mrs. Lila Birrell of Republic and Mrs. Edna Davidson of Los Angeles, Cal.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the United Brethren church, Republic by the Rev. James Buckles and interment was in the Washington cemetery.
