Kevin William Norris, 37, finished his mission here on earth on August 22, 2013. He was born on February 21, 1976 in Murray, Utah to Gary William Norris and Martha Allen Norris. On August 24, 1998, he married his sweetheart Rachel Petersen for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Kevin was raised in West Jordan, Utah with his six siblings. He attended West Jordan High School, graduating in 1994. He also earned his Bachelor's degree from University of Phoenix in Business Management.
Kevin was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission in San Antonio, Texas where he touched many lives. He held several church callings and had an unwavering testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. He could always be found helping others and sharing his many, many talents. He seemed to know something about everything and was a quick learner.
Kevin always made the most of his time and rarely sat still. He loved to fish and camp and just be outdoors. He enjoyed building (from scratch) and flying RC airplanes, and converted many others to the same hobby. Kevin very much enjoyed driving RC cars with his son Stockton, and teaching him all about cars and how to fix them. He loved to take his daughter Anistyn fishing and on early morning hikes. Her favorite part was stopping for a donut and keeping it a secret from mommy.
His favorite moments were spent with his family. Kevin loved family bike rides and evenings watching the kids play at the park. He adored his two children, Anistyn and Stockton, and he spent every spare moment with them. Kevin was the kind of husband every woman dreams about. Each morning when he woke up he would ask his wife Rachel what he could do to make her day easier.
His goal was to always make her happy and sacrifice whatever it took to make that happen. He may not have been a perfect person, but he was the perfect husband. They had a wonderful 15 years together.
Kevin's motto was "no regrets" and he truly had none. He lived every day to the fullest and his love for life was contagious. He had no acquaintances, only friends. He made everyone he met feel like his friend. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Kevin was a huge "Rocky" fan and could usually be found listening to Pink Floyd.
As he courageously battled melanoma and worked hard to overcome the effects of a stroke for the past five months, his determination and positive attitude inspired many. He rarely complained and was always more concerned about his family than himself. We will miss him dearly but know that he has been called home for a greater mission.
