He was born April 1, 1905 to Joseph and Sophia Gardner. He married Viola R. Gary June 7, 1941 in Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was active in Cub Scouts, Ward and Financial Clerk for 30+ years. Volunteered at the Senior Citizens Neighborhood. Retired from Western Union Telegraph Co.Survived by Geri Fugate of California; Louise Brown of Murray; JoAnne Peterson of California; Linda Riding of California; Joe Gardner of Salt Lake City; 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Viola, and great grandson, Dennis Brown.
Funeral services will be held Sat., June 3, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 E. Friends may call Friday, June 2, 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
