Theresa was born May 27, 1930, the daughter of Eugene J. and Laura (Audette) Hatin.
She attended St. Louis Convent in Winooski and dedicated 25 years of her life to the Sisters of St. Martha, cooking for priests and seminarians. She later moved to Florida where she met her husband, Artis Patterson.
After the death of her husband, Theresa moved back to Vermont to be with her family.
Theresa is survived by her sisters, Beatrice Hatin, (her caregiver), and Gloria and her husband, Roland Brosseau, of South Burlington; sisters-in-law, Janet Hatin of Colchester, and Janet Hatin of South Burlington; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and stepson-in-law, Allan Riechert.
She was predeceased by her husband, Artis; her parents, Eugene and Laura Hatin; stepdaughter, Gwen Riechert; sister, Jeannette Hatin; four brothers, Clement and his wife, Helen, Reginald and his wife, Rose-Marie, Eugene "Joe," and Norman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Providence Chapel, 47 West Spring St., Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
There will be no visiting hours.
Arrangements are with the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St. in Winooski.
