Mrs. Tarter was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Prescott, Kan., but had spent most of her life in Cameron. She was a member of the Christian Chapel Church, north of Cameron. She had worked for the Cameron Mutual Insurance Company in the casualty division for 14 years prior to her retirement.
Surviving are her husband, Grant Tarter of the home; a son, Billy Tarter of Cameron; a daughter, Nancy Shelman of Cameron; three sisters, Sylvia Garner of Cameron and Elsie Parrett and Nora Goff, both of Kansas City, Kan.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Burial will be in Cameron Memory Gardens." St Joseph Gazette (St Joseph, Missouri), October 18, 1985
