Robert L. Pinkston, 64, of Otterbein, passed away unexpectedly, at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at IU Arnett Hospital. Born August 13, 1949 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Robert Jewel and Mary Elizabeth (Clawson) Pinkston.
Robert married Judy Oliver on July 6, 1969 in Lafayette and she survives. He was a machine operator for Fairfield Manufacturing for 24 years and prior to that he worked in a Body Shop painting and doing body work. He enjoyed working on cars.
Surviving are his children, a son, Josh Pinkston (wife, Elizabeth) of Lafayette, a daughter, Dawn Pinkston of West Lafayette; his sister, Louise Linder of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Ashley, Tristan, and Nicole Pinkston; and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Skylar Foster. He was preceded in death by son Robert Joel Pinkston and two sisters, Victoria Mulcahy and Patricia Oliver.
Visitation one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Simplicity Funeral Care with Jerry Long officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
