John H. Fetty, age 92, of Canton, passed away at 8:55 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born April 24, 1921, in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, to John Henry and Lena Lou (Leach) Fetty.
Mr. Fetty was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and employed as a bus driver for Canton City Lines and later retired as a truck driver for Matlack.
He proudly served as a firefighter with the Pleasantview, now Plain Township Fire Department in 1948 and was an Auxiliary Deputy with the Stark County Sheriff's Department. He was also a member of AARP and the Teamster Local 92 Retirees Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Theresa (Brian) Green of Malvern; sons, William (Debbra) Fetty of Bremen, John R. (Joyce) Fetty of Louisville, and Paul Fetty of Canton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren: and one expected; brother, Ray (Ginny) Fetty of Navarre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fetty was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen M. (Blile) Fetty whom he married April 22, 1957 and who died in 2005; sisters, May, Rose, Lena, and Hazel; and brothers, Bill and Richard.

Interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery.
