Butte, June 7. -- A few particulars have come to light concerning Edward Abbot, who died last week from morphine poisoning and was buried by the county. A letter was received at police headquarters this afternoon from Chief of Police John Robertson of Bozeman, who states that Abbot was a bum, that he came to Bozeman last winter and lived on a ranch 15 miles out from the city. He always sent in to town for his mail, which he received under three different names. Robertson says that the dead man had an uncle by the name of Abbot at Carlinville, Ill. S. Mounts also writes from Bozeman that Abbot worked for Flannery brothers on a ranch up to May 28 when he grew $150 from the First National bank and left the city with the intention of going to Dallas, Tex., to visit with a brother.
