Leslie A. Stout, 96, Crawfordsville died at 7:03 AM Saturday at The Lane House Nursing Home.
Mr. Stout was October 5, 1911 to Alvin Joel and Louisa Pogue Stout on a farm near Wesley, IN.
He attended Mace schools and graduated From Crawfordsville high School in 1930.
Mr. Stout had worked at the Montgomery County Highway Department and Crawfordsville Electric Light and Power before being employed by the Crawfordsville Fire Department for 32 years, 12 of which he served as Fire Chief.
His memberships included Masonic Lodge #50, York Rite of Montgomery County, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Lion's Club, Boy Scouts, Indiana Firefighter's Assoc. and Indiana Fire Chief's Assoc. and had previously belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church.
He married Mary Marcella Mullikin in Jamestown on November 14, 1936. She preceded him in death on October 28, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Janna Sue Edwards and 3 brothers, Kenneth, Wallace and Darrell
Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Perry) Yeley of Crawfordsville and a son. James R. Stout, of San Diego, CA. along with 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 4-8 PM Monday in the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held at 8:00 PM.
