Born in Columbus County NC, he was a son of the late Harrie James and Ora Godwin Watts. Mr. Watts was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the owner of South Seas Motel for over 40 years. He was a Master Mason of Myrtle Beach Lodge 353, a member and past President of Omar Beach Combers, a 1993 Potentate of Omar Shriner Center, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite's member, a past board of member of Shriner's Hospital in Greenville and was an Emeritus Shriner Hospital board member. Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann J. Watts, a son, Shawn R. Watts and siblings, James O'Neal Watts and Trudy Blake.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Dale Watts and his fiancee' Carolyn Beasley of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Harley Dale Watts, Colbey Wade Regan and Gavin James Regan; siblings, Retha Thompson, Mona Kahl, Elwood Watts, Lee Watts, Pearl Freedman, Herschel James Watts and Bobby's wife, Elizabeth Watts.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery.
