A funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 12 at graveside in the Veal Cemetery in Carroll County. The Rev. Gerald Rogers will officiate.
Mrs. Yates was born August 17, 1907 in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of the late James William Brumlow and the late Josephine Hammock Brumlow. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville and was the wife of the late Rev. Harvie B. Yates.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Polly Tuberville of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Martha Shaw of Lubbock, Texas; two sons, James Yates and Roland Yates, both of Merritt Island, Fla.; ten grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
