Joy Lynn Hayes, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born October 17, 1940 in Charleston to the late Corwin E. Lawrence and Maude Edith (Johnston) Lawrence. She was 72 years old.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hayes; one sister, Patsy Gibson; and three brothers, Paul, James, and Perry Lawrence.

Joy was a bookkeeper for Hayes Tile and Cabinetry in Ratcliff, and was a member of Branch Church of Christ.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Mr. Larry Bean officiating. Burial will be at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Stubblefield and husband Dennis of Charleston, Mechele Deggs and husband Billy of Deridder, Louisiana, and Kerri Neighbors and husband Mark of Bentonville; one son, Jeff Hayes and wife Susan of Charleston; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Willie, and Waylon Stubblefield, Hannah and Hayden Hayes, all of Charleston, Danielle Doyle and husband Benji of Deridder, Louisiana, and Katybeth Booth and husband Sean of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Chloe and Madison Neighbors of Bentonville; one great-grandson, Thomas Daniel Doyle.

Pallbearers will be Perry Lawrence, Jason Lawrence, James Gibson, Sean Booth, Benji Doyle, and Jimmy Sargent.
