POTTS CAMP – Timothy Wayne "Tim" Tate, 53, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Veterans Hospital in Memphis. He was born May 16, 1960, in Memphis to William Ellis Tate and Mary Lawanda Rhodes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver before becoming disabled. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 4, at Beulah Cemetery with the Rev. Byron Tate officiating. Burial will follow. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Bridgett Tate; his mother, Mary Lawanda Rhodes; two daughters, Mary Tate and Nicole Tate; two stepdaughters, Christian Matthews and Kristi Spielhagan; a stepson, Huey Hebert; two brothers, Danny Tate and Jimmy Tate; a half brother, Mark Fuller; and four stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Ellis Tate; a son, Christopher Tate; and a brother, Staff Sgt. Byron C. Tate.
His nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In honor of Mr. Tate, United Funeral Service Inc. will fly the flag of the U.S. Army at the funeral home during visitation and service.
