Thomas Barbour Young was a stone mason who was born in Scotland , emigrated to Canada and eventually to the Toledo, Ohio area. He carved many beautiful pieces of architectural art for buildings including the stone animals at the entrance of the Toledo Zoo which many children have enjoyed sitting on during their trips to the zoo for decades.
